Our new business is being harassed by the current city administration. We have been trying for the last 2 weeks to find out from the Mayor's office what it is we need to do to use the sidewalk in front of our business. They have not provided us with any pertinent or necessary paperwork or procedures/applications necessary to rent the sidewalk in front of our business, Wild Rivers. We have been informed by others that we need to rent the space from the city and been directed back to the Mayor's office--who have been "unavailable" to answer our questions or accept our payment of whatever the charge may be. We have also contacted members of city council who directed us back to the Mayor's office & Mr. Hupp, who is apparently not "available" whenever we appear...We do know, however, that they were available to write us a threatening letter a couple of days ago and issue a citation and fine because a police officer came to drop it off today. Hmmmmmm, plenty of time for letter writing, citations, and fines--but no time to take our application (or even provide one) or accept our payment. Have any other businesses downtown gotten threatening letters, citations or fines delivered to their business by a police officer during business hours, for putting things out in front of their businesses??
