As a personal policy, I do not stay in campgrounds as I like to camp as far from other humans as possible. I stayed in Lane Farm CG not long ago when I needed to stay relatively close to the interstate. I got stuck in the giant traffic jam known as the state of West Virginia and didn't get in until much later than I expected and just had to make camp.
I can't argue with the price (no fee) and there were only a handful of sites. Only 3 of which had other humans and they weren't much of a bother. There's no shade or privacy really though. I didn't think the road roar was that bad then again it is next to a road and I guess if you spend enough time there, you're bound to hear road noise.
It's not a destination campground but the location is fairly convenient and the price was right. It was clean and well maintained by I didn't use any of the bathrooms. If my memory serves me there was no cell phone service despite being fairly close to the interstate. There is a kroger nearby (at the interstate) if you need supplies.
Primitive campground with pit toilet. There is a substantial amount of road noise at this campground. Half of the sites have good tree cover. I would continue down 26 to the further campsites. Good area for a quick getaway, but no trail access. Ok area for kids, just watch them around steep river bank at back of campsites. No easy access to river as old stairs washed away several years ago.
